  • HDV Pixel Aspect Ratio won’t transfer

Hello. I have HDV footage that I captured as both HDV and DV. I edited the final master in DV and now want to reconnect my HDV material. I copied my DV sequence and dropped it in an HDV sequence and then reconnected my HDV quicktime files to my offline media in my HDV sequence. However the pixel aspect is not changing from the DV clips of NTSC -CCIR 601 ratio to the HD (1440X1080) aspect. Everything else in the clip format changes. The frame size is changed from 720X480 to 1440X1080 but the aspect is not and this will not allow my native HDV footage to play without being rendered and it will not fill the frame. I don’t want to have to reedit my entire timeline. Help please.

    hi

I may have had a similar issue not long ago

go to one of the clips in your hdv sequence that you have reconnected, right click on it and remove all attributes. sometimes FCP adds littl things like
aspect ratio changes and such when you mix codecs and timelines.

If this is the case you will still need to find a way to change your clips, which i cant help with but may be in the manual adn maybe someone else here can help
