What exactly is the “movie” look you’re trying to achieve? 24p? Softness? Grain?

And by Sony HD, you mean Sony HDV camera or HDCAM?

Just what look are you trying to achieve? Technicolor? B&W? Old Film? Bleach bypass?

FWIW, a good DP & clever production design will go much, much farther than any type of FCP plugin.

It’s all in the shooting. Ge it as close as possible when you shoot, and minimize what you have to do in FCP.

That being said, Nattress is good, and so is Magic Bullet from Red Giant.

Go to the bottom of the page.

    Selected excerpt:

Highlight a clip, duplicate it and place it directly above itself in the same way your technique is set up. Set the V2 opacity at 50%. Now place the “de-interlace” filter (with the “LOWER” setting selected) on the V1 clip. Next, place “de-interlace” (with the “UPPER” setting selected) on the V2 clip. Thats it!!! No interlaced-induced flicker. Full resolution, No strobing, No jaggies, just a subtle, classy, non-video look.

If only that really were the case…. You certainly don’t get full resolution or total lack of jaggies via this method.
