I haven’t found any info yet but is anyone having issues with comps that use lighting effects (BCC Spotlight, BCC Light Sweep)? I’m doing a 1080i project and I’m getting crashes galore. Started crashing during renders now when I scrub the timeline, etc. I get an 0::42 error. Did the usual troubleshooting of updates, shutting off background apps, etc., to no avail. It’s weirdly sporadic, too. I’d like to avoid reinstalling everything if there’s an easier fix I’m missing.

    My system:

    Dual opteron 2.8 GHZ
    4 GB ram
    Quadro FX 3400
    AE 7.0
    WinXP SP 2

    Thanks

Have you had any luck finding the answer?

Nothing yet…I’m going to wait until tomorrow to reinstall Boris and see if anyone has a work around.

Does the problem happen at the same frame? If so, it may be anything in your comp at that timeframe that could be corrupting AE. Are you using Invig?

I can’t find anywhere what version of BCC you are running. You need to be on BCC 4 to be compatible with AE 7. BCC 2 definatly doesn’t work (I know this from experience)…I haven’t tried 3, but 4 works.

I’m using BCC 4 – I don’t have Invigortator installed. The crashes seem to occur “around” the areas in the timeline where the effects are utilized but the crash is never down to a specific point on the timeline. And sometimes – rarely – I can get through a render or work on a problematic comp without incident.
