  Choppy video in after effects

  I recently exported a clip from APP to AE and for some reason the clip that I exported plays fine in premiere but it gets choppy in AE. My frame rate is 29.97, and I have exported other clips from app to ae and they have worked fine. It seems to be skipping frames but the skipped frames seems to be skipping with a dissolve. By that I mean it seems as if the clip was razored at points and a dissolve transition was added to the razored points. if anyone knows what I mean or can help me I would really appreciate it.
