  • Export for DG Systems?

Posted by Snowboarding27 on February 2, 2006 at 4:02 am

Does anyone on this board use DG Systems for their spot delivery. I’m trying to find the best compression options out of FCP to reduce my :30 spots which are natively 10-bit uncompressed and 800+MB, down to the 100MB range without sacrificing too much quality. The 800MB files take 3+ hours to upload to their FTP server which makes the delivery service not practical for us. Their specs wamt a 25MB/s data rate which I know is DV quality, but I can’t seem to find the right way to export to get a clean result. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Sounds to me like it’s your ISP that is the problem. You need a faster upload connection.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Thanks for the reply, but a faster designated Fiber line is an extra $400 a month (no thanks!). I also know that the normal file size that DG receives from Agencies all over the US is more in the realm of 100MB, so they’re using something to compress the files. Any suggestions for the compression of my uncompressed files?
