I usually use FireWire DV for Preview in both Adobe After Effects and FCP. This time when I started up AE I didn’t get anything on my monitor – I went into the settings and changed the Preview settings from FireWire to Cinema Desktop. The idea was to change it back again right after (to refresh the FireWire) but what happend was that AE/cinema desktop ran FULL SCREEN and I have no chance to get it back the way it was – the whole screen is just black (full screen comp) – every time I start AE.

    What do I do??

Have heart — there is a way to get it back, as I did the same thing once. If I recall, you should try rolling the mouse up to the top of the screen to get the top menu strip (File, Edit, etc.) to appear and access the prefs. If that doesn’t work after a few tries, you can try using one of the keyboard shortcuts to access the same strip, or cmd+opt+; to access the prefs. Try the shortcut first, come to think of it.

    Good luck …
