No…do you have some reason to believe there was one?
This kind of thing is usually saved for the NAB convention.

You might have it confused with the crossgrade that will allow FCP to run natively on both Intel and PowerPC based Macintosh systems.

The Universal version of FCP 5 is supposed to be released sometime around March 1. It’s not a new version of FCP 5, it’s a revised version that will operate on the Intel based machines.

you’re right. it’s only the pro-apps update for the intel book.

Just as a follow-up, if you visit the Apple store website, you’ll see an Apple Logic Cross-Grade option for $49. This allows current users of Logic to purchase a universal version of Logic that will run on both Power PC and Intel based machines.
You’ll see that same option come up for Final Cut Studio in the near future.
