I know, I know! I’m potentially asking you all to give me DVD pirating info, but that is not the case. I have a client that wants to incorporate in-house material that has already been burnt to a DVD into a corporate video that I’m currently editing. All I have access to are the files within the Video TS folder, no original tapes, nothing. Is there a way to convert the files within the Video TS folder into Quicktime movie files so I can edit them within FCP? I’ll understand if nobody wants to get their hands dirty with this one. CIAO for now!!!!

    Hi Jandro,

I use MPEG Streamclip (it’s free!) when I have to do this. Works very well. Drag and drop VIDEO_TS from DVD, use the “fix time code” tool and output to many different formats, including Quicktime. Good luck.

Paul’s suggestion is the one to start with. Google “Handbrake, OS X” to find another option. I’ve found that, depending on what you want to do, sometime’s one is better than the other.

This is working. I no longer have to rig my stand-alone DVD player to do this. Gracias!!!!
