or is it that i’m a flakey editor? (i’m sure this is probably more likely, but here it is…)

i was stumped by the Blackmagic DV-NTSC preset that would only let me grab 12-channels, the selector was always ghosted so i couldn’t change it to 2-channels. so i restarted after trashing prefs one more time, thinking maybe something was corruptred. tried the BM preset again, no change.

so then i tried the native “DV-NTSC” preset. this one allowed me to choose just 2-channels, BUT it could never find my outpoint on captures! i set the in and out points in log and capture, then did a batch capture and it would take off and start correctly…but then it would never stop! what’s up here? i’m stumped again as usual.

if that isn’t enough, there is something going on with my monitor output. yes, i still have that horizontal roll problem on viewing my timeline on and external monitor, but that is only when FCP sends a signal to it. half the time, i get no picture going out to the monitor. if i pop a tape in my deck, and then eject it, it then somehow tells FCP to send an output from the timeline. very odd, and not consistent. any ideas????

    thanks…
