  WMV – Windows Media Video from FCP

  Hi all

  I’m have been using Cleaner (Discreet) on Macintosh for years to make Windows Media Video files. These files are quite out of date now – only supporting Windows Media 7 compression and max size 640×480 pix.

  One of my customers made a much better looking file – with half the size (in MB) the other day using Adobe Encore – Not good 🙁 !!! I see that Cleaner XL for PC is supporting Windows media 10 compression and I’m about to try the free version now.

  BUT – What are you gurus (:-) out there using to make WMV files?

  We’re using Sorenson Squeeze with the flip4mac Pro Studio plugin. Works great although at the moment Squeeze 4.3 isn’t working with flip4mac V2, so you ‘re probably best bypassing squeeze for now and just using the standalone flip4mac. I think it can be set up to work from compressor if you need batching.

  Works in Cleaner 6, 6.5, Compressor 2, Apple apps such as QTPro,FCP,iMovie. Flip4Mac 1.0.6 works in Squeeze while they work on 2.0.x compatibility.
