  gradient wipe not working…

  I’ve used this awesome wipe several times in the past on different systems.

  I tried to use it today, and it showed black as a background, instead of the background I have in fcp.
  Also, the text I was wiping looked very jagged and ghosting a bit.

  I need to follow a light pattern across the background and need a nice soft edge that is slanted about 25 degrees.
  I used a 4 point garbage matte to wipe the text on…now I’d like to wipe text & background to the talent.

  Any cow tips or tricks???????

  Put the talent on the top layer and add a soft edge wipe?
