I’m working on new G5 quad-core, w/ latest version of FCP.
I’m working with HDV 1080/60i footage on my timeline.
I’ve already gotten used to having to render every time something is moved around, which I guess is a product of working in HDV.

But for some reason, whenever I select an item on the timeline to view in the browser, it plays really slow and choppy. I have to select the clip from the sequence list to the left in order to view it in the browser. Is there any way around this? It’s just a little inconvenient having to do this since you can just easily double-click on the footage in the timeline and not have to search for the clip on the file list.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have your Canvas window set to Fit to Window which is the shortcut Shift+Z when you have clicked into your Canvas window.
