  QuickTime Error (-2048)

  Hello All.

  I’ve been having major Quicktime Problems. I keep getting an error of -2048 when I try to play back movies. Here’s the situation:

  I exported from FCP using Quicktime Conversion – High Quality Broadband Preset (which uses the H.264 codec).

  The movies that come out are fine and playable. When I FTP them to a site and then go to download them I keep gettting:

  QuickTime cannot open the file: “1.mov”
  it is not a file that QuickTime understands (-2048)

  I have the latest version of Quicktime 7.0.4 Pro. Other clients have the same problem.

  On another but similar note:

  I output Uncompressed 8Bit Quicktime movie for a client and they have the most recent QT player and are getting a similar message that says that it is an invalid file format. It has the .mov extension.
