  prepping mpeg for use in fcp

  I am working on a project using mpeg files from the Prelinger archives. What is the best way to prepare these for cutting in FCP? I have been attempting to
  use QT to export them as DV files, but then FCP doesn’t seem to want to import those. Am I doing something wrong?

  YOu need to use something like MPEG Streamclip to convert these to DV files.
