  • FCP5 Sequence doesn’t “Send to Motion” correctly

Posted by Jeffrey on January 11, 2006 at 4:33 pm

I have cut together, color-corrected, added transitions, and mixed the audio for a spot all in FCP5 and now I am trying to “Send” it to a Motion project so I can add some final filters to the video. Do the “round trip” thing.

I control-click the sequence in the browser, select “Send to Motion project,” name and save the new Motion project, check “Launch Motion,” and, when Motion launches and opens the project all the video clips play the wrong portion of the master clip that they came from! For example, if I used seconds 4 through 8 of master Clip A in the FCP timeline, seconds 1 through 4 of master clip A will play in the Motion timeline! It does this on every clip in the sequence! Also, none of the filters I applied in FCP show up, nor do the transitions (ie basic dissolves).

    Am I missing something???
