I working in Blackmagic 10-bit uncompressed and I need to provide a 16×9 anamorphic Digibeta output of a 4×3 project for European TV, and something is weird, I’m not seeing any 16×9 sequence settings. Maybe I’m too tired to see them, or maybe they went missing??? Anyone have an idea.

    TIA,
    DRW

I’m assuming your blackmagic setting shows up in ‘sequence presets’? If it does, edit the preset and check the anamorphic setting next to pixel aspect ratio. Hope that helps.

Thanks Patrick, it seems this only works on clips not nested sequences. Does that sound right???

No, it should be able to work on nested sequences. A nested sequence is still seeing your origional edits, just in one track. If you double click on the nested sequence, you’ll see the origional clips in the origional sequence (usually ending with a .1). That is to say, your origional sequence is still there, its not like it turned into one file (i.e. an imported quicktime). That original sequence will still be 4×3. Another thing to think about….if this media was shot and captured at 4×3, when you make it anamorphic, you will be stretching the clips, making them distorted.
