  sending submovies to frame (x) with expressions

  Hi all,

  I have been having a lot of fun synching stuff to music, making them shrink, grow, exploder etc 😀

  now i have a question..

  if I want to make a sub-movie (am a flash-er, I guess that would be a composite in AE)jump to a certain frame based on an expression.. how would I do that?

  lets say the submovie has 60 frames.. and I want it to show frame 60 every time the music hits the highest point. (or 0 for the lowest.. and on and on).

  Assuming that you have already converted your audio to keyframes, you would enable Time Remapping for your movie and apply an expression like this to the Time Remap property:

  a = thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
  minAudio = 0;
  maxAudio = 20;
  minFrame = 0;
  maxFrame = 60;
  f = linear(a,minAudio,maxAudio,minFrame,maxFrame);
  f*thisComp.frameDuration;

  Adjust minAudio and maxAudio to match your audio levels.
