For use inside FCP or outside?

Inside just adjust the scale. Outside you need to use something like photoshop.

But you need to know, that the best resolution you can get is 720×480 for DV and 720×486 for SD like Beta or DIgibeta…both at 72dpi. Make the picture any bigger and the resolution suffers.

As Shane mentioned you cannot go any bigger without the image falling apart on you. Even if you exprt teh freeze out to PS or another imaging program. there are plugins to try and save some of the pixel info but it is guessing on what to fill in when you go over 100%.

I call this the ballon test….

if you draw on a deflated balloon and blow it up what happens to the image……it looks like a mess but if you blow up the balloon firs tthen draw on it and defalte it the picture usually looks great. that beign said in any imaging software the original size is as big as you would want to go.

Yes we all fudge a little when we have to…. a boom mic is barely in the shot or to move it a little but i would say anyhting more than 10% it is a goner.
