    Hi
Am just about to embark on a project shot on HDV sony Z1. I have a G5 running OS X Panther with FCP 4.5 HD. I have heard that FCP 4.5 HD doesnt have the ability to edit in full res HDV and even to capture HDV in any form, even at a lower resolution. Am VERY confused as have had so many ‘experts’ giving me conflicting information. if someone had a minute to clarify i’d be really grateful.
    Thanks

You can’t capture HDV at all in 4.5 unless you have the third part Lumiere plug in.

You need FCP5 to capture and edit in native HDV

    Hi Steve
Long time no speak! I am assuming you are the Steve Connor who used to work with Tony Coggans a few years back? Thanks for clarifying the HDV issue for me. My email is phil_summers@yahoo.com if you fancy a catch up.
    Thanks again
    Phil
