    Hi,
I deinterlaced some footage in my fcp timeline using fcp’s stock deinterlace filter, and when i do, the video just becomes very blurry and warped, even if i play back on full quality. What is the cause of this??? (NOTE: when I dont PLAY the video, but just rest the playhead on the frame, it appears fine).

FCP is notorious for playing video low rez in the canvas or viewer. You really need to be seeing it on your TV monitor.

BTW, the de-interlacers included in my Film Effects package are very much superior to the in-built ones.

Check your playback settings on the timeline. FCP is probably trying to play the filter on the go without rendering. Set to high.

Oh, by the way, Happy New Year everybody!
