Thanks for all the advice, I have trashed prefs twice and repaired permissions, still no title safe in an otherwise perfectly working setup.

    I’m stumped.

    Have a wonderful day.

Okay, it gets weirder. If I turn on “show timecode overlays” I can see a bit of the title safe lines in the windows, so they are there but they are BEHIND it canvas image!

    Have a wonderful day.

I’ve seen this, but I don’t know what brings it on. Try shutting down your computer and rebooting. I think it’s a display issue. You might try kicking to a different display resolution.

    All the best,

    Tom

    Tom,

When you said “it’s a display issue,” a light went on, I opened up my sysetm prefs and the 23″ display was set at thousands of colors. Changing to millions solved the problem, thanks!

    Have a wonderful day.

Um, why did you start a second thread for this single issue? You have the exact same thread started down below and people were giving you advice down below.

I don’t understand why people have to start two threads for the exact same issue on these forums. Just a great way to clutter things up.

    Point taken Walter.

And Tom, hats off to you and Chris! I was having the same problem on my 2 apple flat display set up.

Our I.T. guy here in Chicago recently upgraded me to FCP 5 and forgot to set the 12″ canvas display to millions! Got my title guides back in less than a minute!
