  Exporting MPEG2 And Getting “File Error: Unknown File”

  This just started happening yesterday. When I try to export MPEG2’s FCP goes through the whole export process with the status bar and everything, then when it finishes all I get is “File Error: Unknown File”. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  Have you tried trashing your preferences? And/or updating your quicktime and FCP from the apple site can help as well.

  Just a thought, it worked for me when my FCP suddenly decided not to export mpeg2’s at all.
