Hi. My name is Jennifer and well I am a FCP editor. Would you believe that I claim to be this and I don’t even own a mac?
yes… this is true. I work all day on a mac(at work) and I don’t even own one! Which brings me to why I am posting this message. I have been wanting to get a 15inch powerbook for a while now and I am finally able to afford one. My question is… would it be worth even getting one now with the new intel laptops coming out? does anyone know if they are only going to be the ibooks?
I only want this laptop to be able to do freelance work to build up my portfolio. Would it be worth it to wait?

Hoping I make sense, would anyone care to give me any advice?

DO you own a lot of Mac software? Do you own a current version of FCP? If you own a lots of Mac software, get a current model, as it is DARN possible it won’t work on the intel macs.

Plus, there is no keeping up with the Joneses. You buy a computer now, 6 months later, new one. And you can wait…and wait…and wait for the Mac intel PB and…who knows when it will come. Sure, it might be ANNOUNCED Jan. 11…but when will it ship.

My motto is buy it when you need it. If you need it now, get it now. If you can wait…wait.
