  • colour supression – c-curves like in combustion?

    hey guys,

i’ve got some hdv footage that i’ve keyed. i’m doing the supression in a separate comp, then using the keyed footage as a matte for the supressed footage, as when using combinations of ultimatte/primatte to build modular keys i get uneven colour variation.

primatte / ultimate / keylight / basic vanilla afx supression all tried, but because of the hdv artifacts, they leave the plate noiser than it orgininally was!

combustion gives me perfect supression results, no noise at all. i’m a little surprised, i thought at least ultimatte would work (it’s done wonders for keying).

    question:
is there any way to achieve combustion style supression using c-curves in after effects? i could just render out a suppressed pass from combustion, but if i could do it inside ae it saves me a step and a lot of disk space for these 40 shots or so…

    thanks!
    scott.
