We are shooting documentary with JVC GY-HD100U. (Wish we could have the new Panasonic P2 camera, but looks like we won’t be able to get it in time)
This documentary will consist of a lot of still pictures, and slides as well as some live footage. What would one recommend for capturing these slides/stills? Before when I worked on DV projects, I’d just simply use our Sony PD100A DV camcorder on the photo-copy stand with lights, and firewire it directly into FCP. Is it still the best bet with GY-HD100U for stills? or is there better ways? My concern with scanners in the past was interlacing, when I put a still pict in FCP every now and then they ring, had shakes on thin lines, but by shooting it with my camcorder I never had that problem. So if I’d need a 10 second still shot, I’d just shoot the still for 11-12 seconds (giving me options for transitions) and I was in business. So if there are scanners, what are best options for HDV (anamorphic) production? And also what would one use for the slides?

Thank you all for your help
