I keep trying to export a quicktime file to idvd to make a simple dvd. The dvd does not play back properly in any dvd player I have tried. The program tends to hang about thirty minute into it. It stops and starts. I have idvd 5.0 I am using Quicktime 7.0.3. My computer is a G4dual 800 with 768 mg memory. Any suggestions. I was just rying to make things simple and they are not.

If you want more complete answers, you need to EXPLAIN IN DETAIL your procedures and materials. But I’ll take a stab at it.

Don’t know what you’ve tried, but here are a few basic steps:

    In FCP, choose:

    File > Export > Quicktime Movie… > Current Settings > Audio & Video > Markers (if any) > Save.
Do NOT check the “make self-contained” (no need if you’re burning with iDVD.)

After the export, drop that file onto an open iDVD menu.

Customize the menu(s) if you want.

    Burn the DVD.

    That’s about it.

Don’t know what brand of DVD BLANKS you’re using, but that COULD be your problem.
