    Hi there.

Could someone please explain to me what the Mark Clip function actually looks at? I can’t seem to work out what it thinks is a clip and what it will mark for me.

If I’ve got a 5 track sequence, and I want to mark the in/out on a clip on track 3 – I’d expect to be able to click on it, then hit mark clip, and it would then give me the in and out marks for that clip. Unfortunately, 9 times out of 10 it will mark something 10 times the size at an earlier point in the sequence.

So – what am I marking when I hit mark clip?

    Thanks in advance.

The clip that will be marked is determined by how you’ve set your auto select lights… the lowest light lit for video will be selected, and the highest light lit for audio… video will trump any audio selections too.

I really find the easiest way to get marked what I want marked is to select the clip in the Sequence, then type shift+a.

It’s also useful if you want to select more than one clip for marking… there’s no limit to the number of clips you can select.
