  How can I create a reasonable filesized AVI file

  Hi All

  As a part of my FCP project I need to create an AVI file to send to the PC based Dubbing suite. I created one using DV/DVC Pro compression which took about 40 minutes but it was 10 gig.

  Then I tried Cinepak compression but the computer said it would take 7 hrs to create it. (I did set the quality to Low)

  In the AVI options settings dialouge there is an option to set the key frames to every (N) frames and there is a section where you can limit the data rate. I am sure these will play a big part in reducing the file size and compression time butI am not sure what these shold be set to.

  My project is NTSC(29.97) captured at DV quality.

  Any information is much appriceated.
