November 19, 2005 at 11:03 pmThat exclamation point is telling you that your video is too “hot” (Excessive Luma or Chroma). When you see the exclamation point or the green check, that means you have turned on the “range Check” feature of FCP. If you don’t want to see this, go to “view” , select “range Check” and turn it off. This doesn’t fix your video, it just keeps quiet about it.

November 20, 2005 at 1:51 amPay attention to your video levels if your video is to be broadcast. Video that is too hot is ‘illegal’ and runs the risk of being rejected by the broadcaster. Using your range check, waveform monitor and vectorscope helps to make sure that you have legal video.
