  • Timeline from Multiclip not Re-Capturing Properly

I have a timeline that was originally a multiclip timeline with 4 tracks (angles) in it. After the edit was done, the timeline was collapsed back to a ‘normal’ sequence. I’ve also collapsed the individual clips in my timeline (they no longer have ‘multiclip’ beside their name).

Unfortunately, all the footage was deleted because someone else thought the project was completed. Luckily we kept the project file. So right now I tried recapturing the footage needed. I went to my timeline, highlighted everything, right clicked and went to capture. The issue is that I got a pop-up window: “Addidtional Items Found”, “7 items outside of your current selection….etc..”. I hit “Add” and then i get another popup “Duplicate Item Filname”. So i hit “Skip” a few times through all the windows, now i’m finally at the capture window but now it’s asking me to insert tapes i KNOW I don’t need!!

So instead I decided to go into my browser and individually select the clips I knew i needed and digitized those. Again, the same windows popped up!! I skipped them all and finally digitized the source clips from my browser. But after they were digitized, FCP gave me an error message saying that the footage in my timeline doesn’t matchup with the footage I just digitized! What’s going on here? I hope this isn’t a multiclip bug…..
