    Hello CC,

One of our editors is trying to capture to FCP 5 though an AJA Io Box using a DigiBeta Deck and they keep experiencing dropped frames. At one edit bay where this had occurred, the Scratch Disk is set to a 1.5TB external hard wired drive that has over 600G of free space. On the other computer they were capturing to a 500G, 800FW G-Raid drive. The tapes have been checked and there is no sign of broken timecode. Both computers are dual 2.0 G5s with over 2 gigs of RAM. I haven’t encounter anything quite like this before.

    Any suggestions?

What codec are you capturing to? What kind of performance are you getting on your drives? Dropped frames usually indicates the drives can’t keep up with the information you are throwing at them.
