  Compressor Fails: Media Server Unexpectedly Quit / File Exists

  I have two problems…

  #1 When exporting out of FCP5 I get an error message that says “File Error: A file of this name already exists.” from FCP. After I click the “OK” button Compressor2 loads. There are no files with the name I’m trying to export anywhere on my system, including the destination setup within Compressor.

  #2 My other problem is when I submit the batch (created in #1, above) the Batch Monitor opens and the compression begins. Then, almost immediately, the batch fails and the error given is

  Hey Ryan,

  I have the exact same problem and I cannot seem to fix it. Have you had any luck with it? It seems to occur for me after I have exported the sequence through Compressor once, and if I try it again, I get the message “File error: a file of this name already exists” and you know the rest. Both your problems are related because the only time I get the immediate failure in Compressor 2 is when I get the error message in Final Cut 5. Let me know if anything comes up.
