November 1, 2005 at 11:20 pmMark, I’m assuming you already repaired permissions and you didn’t update mid-project, right?
Seems to me that FCP 5.0.2 and OS 10.4.2 wasn’t broke, so I’m pretty stable staying right here. Is there some compelling reason that we should all update? Was it crashing before?

November 2, 2005 at 1:05 amMark, what are the specifics of the projects that are crashing? What are you working in, what type of render are you doing, etc? I’ve updated to 5.0.3 and I haven’t crashed after a render yet. Have ypou tried trashing your prefs yet?

November 2, 2005 at 1:29 am10.4.2 and FCP 5.0.2 is pretty stable indeed. So is 5.0.3 on it so far I’m finding.

November 2, 2005 at 3:36 pmthanks Jerry. I did clean Tiger. Project is basic unc sd. It seems that the crashes are occurring right at the beginning of renders. I trashed prefs, changed disk designation, turned off spotlight. Each time I do a repair permissions though it seems like a whole bunch of repairs to widgets is going on…. maybe I will trash the widget off the dock.

November 3, 2005 at 8:10 pmMark, could you give some details of your system configuration (machine type, RAM, etc). Also, did you update to 10.4.3 and 5.0.3 simultaneously? You mention dissolve renders – is it specifically rendering these dissolves that seems to be the problem, or is it just rendering in general?
