Any idea why the video where my cross dissolves are happen pixelates during the dissolve when playing back? if you park the head over the dissolve it looks fine on the output monitor but when you play through it get’s chunky.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to RENDER all effects to see them in full quality.

All RT in FCP is dynamic, that is, it degrades the quality to ensure that the timeline keeps playing.

To see full quality, you must Render the effects and you should also have your Video Processing set to Best Quality.

….and for heaven’s sake, use a video monitor to check all of your rendered effects.

Over and over and over we tell folks to properly monitor FCP, yet few get the message.
