  • copying text from other apps…

    Hi everyone,
Is there a quick way to copy and paste text from Microsoft word or any other app, to a text later in AE. I’ve tried with no success.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for responding Dave,

Unfortunately I’m on a PC. Darn! I’m trying to copy Java code into AE text layers without trying to retype it.

Make usre both Word and AE are running. Copy the text from word, then double click on the text layer and past via CTRL+V.

    It works. Sometimes.

Some days I can copy from Word to AE, and some days not. I have not figured out the issue yet, but if I shut down AE and restart, this usually solves the issue. Well… sometimes.

Again – no idea why it’s happening.

I think I posted on this topic just last week. Look it up, it may also contain a possible solution to your problems.

My solution is use a Mac, but if you like, you might try saving the word doc as an html file open with your browser (You use Mozilla of course 😉 and copy from the browser window.
