  Stuttering playback using jkl keys

  I just upgraded from FFCP 3/4 to 5. I used jkl constantly in 4X and 8X mode to quickly move through clips. Now, when I tap “L” twice to shuttle at 4X, the clips starts stuttering very badly after 4-6 seconds. Any solutions?

  G5 2GB Dual, FCP Suite, 512 MB RAM, LaCie and Fantom Firewire external, single CRT monitor, Sony DSR30 DVCAM deck.

  I never use those keys, but was having a stutter problem while playing backwards & other probs: it was QT7 pro. Had to go back to 6.5.2, the remove & patch didn’t work, had to strip out 7, and Osx.3.9 AND FCP4.5 and re-enter them all (up to QT6.5 and os 3.4), ie go back to where I was several months ago before upgrades. AND I needed professional help.
  Seems ok, but test is tomorrow when boss starts editing
