  DDR2 RAM: ECC or non ECC?

  Whats the difference between the two and is the price difference really worth it?

  ECC is error correcting memory which in theory reduces the amount of errors that can be generated in the exchange of data. This should translate into a more stable machine.

  ECC is for servers to give extra stability, but the performance is severly decreased. For graphics and editing, you want quality non-ECC.
