when launching FCP 3 I get an invalid system ID notice. I’ve tried removing preferences folder to desktop, reinstalling fcp 3 from original disc. What else can I try? Quick time 6.5.2 is installed–is this ok? I tried removing that and installing quicktime from original disc but i don’t see anything created under os x. my computer was overhauled by apple and most major parts were replaced and I’m sure all this has something to do with that but reinstalling from disc should do the trick. No?

Removed the fcp system id number from the root library, reinstalled and good to go.
