I have a relatively simple tracking job. Two high-contrast cards placed on a team jersey while the camera did a high-angle pan. I’m using perspective corner pin to map video into each card.

The “top” tracker tracks just fine–no problems. The “bottom” tracker tracks just fine as well, however, when I apply the tracking to the target layer, it misinterprets the horizontal/vertical of my video and the video is squeezed vertically instead of properly onto the 16:9 card. There is no difference between the tracker points of the two trackers, they’re in the same order.

My only workaround is to manually swing the tracker points around in a clockwise rotation to get the video to display correctly, which is a pain. Why is this?

Your going to want to precompose the target into a comp that “leaves all attribute in currect comp” Then in the New comp reverse distort the image so that in the final comp it appears correctly.

The Perspective corner pin tracker is directly linked to the corner pin effect and it only will put the four corners of a layer into the tracked points designated in the tracker controls.

However… If you are really savvy, you can position the tracker search and interest squares into the corners of the card and then move the tracker point (the little “t”) to where it appears the target video will need to reach. here is an example, http://www.videocopilot.net/target.jpg

But if you miscalculate you wil be re-tracking the shot whereas the precompose allows you to make subtle changes as necessary.

    Good Luck,
