    Hi everybody.

I was just wondering if/how I change the track colours for the timeline. Coming from an Avid background, and having the love of bright colours of a 5 year old, I really don’t like the muted colours on final cut pro as it is, but more than that I’d like to make sure that all the audio pairs are different colours and the different video tracks also have a different colour.

I’m assuming that there’s a way to do this, and though I’ve asked a couple FCP veterans – I can’t find an answer.

    Thanks in advance.

    John

You don’t. However, you can use “labels” to highlight certain clips. Look up labels in the manual if you need more info.

That’s a real shame. I’ve tried to make the most of the labelling thing, but it’s still not what I’m looking for. Maybe in a future version they’ll address something like this, but I’m well aware of so many ‘changes’ they’ve made to make sure no-one can accuse them of following Avid’s ways, so I won’t expect it any time soon.

Thanks for your help so far. If anyone knows any other tips, I’d appreciate more advice here.

    John.
