  print to video hangs

  hey everyone —

  I tried printing out to video and when I scanned the finished tape, I found portions where the video would hang for a few seconds
  and then start up again. This happened a few times until the recording eventually finished. I’m going to try recording again, but I was wondering
  if anyone has any experience with this?

  The video is about 2 hours long and was shot in 24p advanced. Simple edits only, the only effects being desaturate and text generators
  all over for the subtitles.

  My setup is a powerbook 1.67 ghz, 2 gig ram. The video is stored in a lacie fw 800 drive, and recorded onto a mini dv camera also via firewire.

  any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂 thanks!

  You are crowding the FW bus. Get a PCMCIA card to separate drives and deck. If that doesn’t work, output a self-contained QT and then reimport. Place it in a new sequence and then try outputting once more.
