  any editing competitions?

  Does anyone know of any editing competitions. I just saw this trailer that someone made of “The Shining”, but cut it to be the feel good movie of the year…it was great. I think that it was for a competition. I would love to enter a competition like that. Thanks.

  Sure, there’s the Emmy’s, The Academy Awards, The Clio’s, Golden Globes, and don’t forget MTV viewer’s choice. They have an editing category for those don’t they? SOrry to be a wise ass, must be something in the air today. In all honesty I saw this same spot you speak of and thought it was hilarious. It looks like more an exercise in editing for film school to me.

  I think that spot was actually done for a competition…at least that is the word. Some reason I never win the editing awards at the Emmy’s or Acadamy Awards…not yet at least.

  Just about every festival or Awards competition has an Editor category.
