FCP DV output to studio monitor
Currently, I’m using the second DVI port on my G5’s video card with an S-Video converter hooked to my Sony 13″ studio monitor. While this works, I find that the calibration controls are limiting at best and I was wondering what others are doing. I don’t have a deck and I’d rather not run it through my camera (firewire out, then s-video out of the camera). Are there simple output only boards out there? I know that there are quite a few 10-bit uncompressed boards out there and others which offer additional features but, I only need simple DV.

Yeah. You need a DV device. Look into the Canopus bridge.
