Problems is LaCie Drives and FCP 4.5
We have two 500 Gb Raid 0 LaCies drive connect to our G5 running FCP 4.5. While using FCP, it freezes on us and will not unfreeze or quit. After a forced reboot, our two raid drive will not mount. Nortons says that the have major errors but cannot repair. Diskwarrior brings them back to life, but we lost some of the data….
My question is, does this sound like a problem caused by FCP or the LaCie drives themselves or Mac OS 10.3? Has any one else had a problem like this?

A couple of things. Are these drives initialized with Mac OS Extended? If not, you’ll have to erase the drive and recapture your clips. Another item might be that might be the cause of problems is Norton. Uninstall Norton, Disk Warrior is fine for what you need to do. Finally, do you have another device daisy chained to your FW drive? If so, it might be a good investment to get a PCI card with additional inputs to put the devices on separate buses. The fact that you have lost only a little data after a major crash is really not that bad of a situation to be in. The important thing is to prevent it from happening again. In other words, always prepare yourself for the day you may have to recapture.

First off, how are these drives connected to your G5? One should be connected to a PCI card and one should be connected directly to the G5.
Beyond that, all the suggestions by Kevin should be followed as well.
