  • Image sequence import broken in FCP 5?

    hi there,

I’m trying to import a PNG24 imagesequence into FCP.
I set the stillframe duration to 00:00:00:01.
    Here’s what happens:
FCP sets in and out points wrong,
the duration in the browser is 00:00:00:00, in-point is 00:01:00:00 and
the out-point is set 00:00:59:24 (working in PAL). so the duration should
    be -1 frame.
however it works when I set the stillframe duration to 2, but it’s duration is 2 frames.
seems like a bug to me. can anyone confirm this?

    thanks,
    henning

    I’m on OS-X 10.4.2 and FCP 5.02

Very peculiar. I would think that your sequence seetings don’t match some how. Make sure your timebase settings are correct. Also try making a new sequence and trying to mport into that. Sometimes the sequence properties get messed up and corrupt.

Also, I’d try importing the image sequence into QuickTime and exporting the finished clip in whatever codec you’re working with in FCP, straight out of Quicktime.

One of these should work for you.

    thanks for your input james.
but no – all settings are correct and I often worked with image
sequences in FCP 4.5. I just upgraded – so this is the 1st time in FCP 5.
it doesn’t make sense… because setting the still frame duration
to other than 1 just works. i do not have a problem getting my job
done using a quicktime wrapper instead but it’s annoying that my
    usual workflow does’t work anymore.
anybody else sharing some experience? please post here.
    thanks,
    henning
