Rather basic question: I just used a ripple filter on a title element in FCP3. The ripple effect is visible on the title and I like what it’s doing, however, the filter and it’s controls are not available on the FILTERS tab. The ripple filter is not shown on the FILTERS tab. I can’t imagine what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?

    Hi John

make sure that the viewer is showing the instance of the clip w/ filter from the timeline … its a really easy mistake to make.
just double click the clip in the timeline, then check for the filter again.

    cheers

Yes, that’s very true. However, I’ve already done that.

I dragged other filters onto the clip and they didn’t show up either. Surprise, rebooting solved the problem! Now all my filters are showing.
