Exporting with Alpha Channel
Wow this seems to be a popular topic today! However, i don;t need to go to flash but just FCP, here;s my dilema…
I have a animated lower third compliments of Digital Juice that i use a lot in one of our shows. While it fits the graphic design scheme, i had to heavily use some color correction filters to get it to match our color scheme. The problem is that every time it renders it has a ton of processes on it, (scale, time, filters, motion blur, etc) and i want to speed up the render process so its just rendering the video below and above it.
The problem is that it has an embedded alpha channel that ineveitably renders out black when final cut/compressor outputs. Is there a way to output a new movie file of my tweaked file while retaining that alpha channel? thanks…

make sure of course that your output format supports alpha channel (use animation or other that has millions of colors+)
and try exporting the file before renedering in FCP, apparently that helps.also, just in case, remember that the background will appear black unless composited.
