  FCP Multiclip Editing

  I’m working with FCP 5 and have ventured into the multiclip features…I have a two camera sequence and I’m wondering
  if there is a Keyboard key that will allow me to add transitions to the edits ON THE FLY…I’m sick of cuts…I want some dissolves

  Can anyone tell me if this is possible???

  The basic transition of production (films, drama, comedy, music, sports) is the cut .
  It is simply the best “default”.

  Virtually all NLEs create a “cuts-only” multi-cam edit (including Avid).

  After you’re finished making the camera cuts, you can go back and add any kind of transition you like.

  Its easy in FCP to take a cuts-only edit and add the same dissolve (or whatever) transition in place of ALL the cuts in a single step.

  To add Multiple Transitions:

  Create the transition you want and make it your “Default Transition”.
  (You can change the default by control clicking on it in the fx tab.)

  Range Select (Select All of) your clips on the timeline.
  Drag this selection into the canvas
