frame pixelaton during capture
When I playback in the ‘Log & Capture’ window, certain frames (about 1 or 2 frames every 8 to 10 seconds) have (what I call “pops”) or pieces of pixelation in them.
It is NOT consistent every time – meaning that I can rewind, replay the same clip in the window, and it will do it at an entirely different place in the clip.
So obviously, if it happens at points during playback, it happens during capture. This results in having to recapture clips a couple times to get a consistent one or to piece them together.
I have a JVC HRDVS3U mini-DV deck, and I had it serviced at an authorized tech to make sure it wasn’t the deck. It wasn’t — it played smoothly on their editing software.
Please, any advice??

OK.
But what about your SOURCE material?
Have you tried playing the tape in the camcorder it was shot on (connected to FCP with FW)?

Is this deck approved for FCP? Uh, I don’t think so.

This problem is actually mentioned in the poor reviews.
