    Hello!
I’ve got a mac running FCP V5 which continually crashes!
it is a hd project NTSC filmed at 59.97 dropframe on HD DVCPro. The deck we use to play it in converts it to sd and we have digitised it in with a dv ntsc capture preset. Everything plays brilliantly but we are experiencing LOTS of crashes. it crashes randomly..i can not see any consistancy in the crashes!!!!
I have done a system test and all our card/drives passed so i think it is a project based problem not a computer based problem. I have scoured the clients project and think the problem may lie with one of the following…

    1) We have a few tapes that are non drop frame. they have been digitised in as so but what should the sequence be set to? drop frame or non drop?

    2) All the footage has been digitised in with an aspect ratio of ntsc-ccir601/dv but the sequence ratio is set to ntsc DV (3:2) is this a problem?

    3) in the sequence settings it is set to render using YUV. should it be set to that or RGB?

    4) there are mixed sample rates of 44.1 and 48!

    5) When my client creates Text, the text is not dragged into the browser to create an individual clip. is this putting more strain on the FCP? Also it is an anamporphic project and some of the text created are anamporphic and some are not. is this an issue?

A MASSIVE thanks to anyone who can help me!!!!!!!!
